Mass updates due to Business Process Changes
Customer might initially choose not to implement certain modules, but subsequently may decide to go ahead and use the module after the product is implemented. This might require some one-time data changes outside the system. For example, if the inventory module is not implemented to start with and the customer decides to implement it after the system has been live for sometime, in order not to affect the operations, we might have to set some default values for equipment like warranty date etc.
In evolving operations in emerging markets, this service plays a very important role. Occasionally, there may be a requirement to make bulk changes to the data outside the system. For example, due to a satellite switch, customer may have to update all the smart cards. We can provide such changes on a short notice without affecting the services to the subscribers. This is an important requirement for clients just beginning such services and having uncertainties with respect to the business rules, addressing equipment, legal rules, etc.
Customization to suit local requirements

Periodic Reconciliation of data with business associates
Reconciliation with business associates is an ongoing requirement for most subscriber-oriented businesses nowadays. We will provide services to help customers, reconcile financial and other data with their business associates. For example, though billing is done at subscriber level, dealers will remit bulk amounts. Periodically, there may be a need to reconcile this data. Similarly, dealers might be issued equipment and it might become necessary to reconcile the stocks at dealers, place against the records with the customer.
Generating Ad-hoc Reports/ Evolve relationships through Business Intelligence/ data mining
There may be instances where the customer wants to generate an ad-hoc report for various reasons. We provide timely help in building such reports. Most enterprise customers have in-house team that can be supported by Magnaquest personnel for such activities.
For instance, we can provide service to analyze the data and give reports based on the behavior pattern to help the customer make sound business decisions. For example, connection, disconnection, switching patterns can be observed based on region, season etc and promotions can be thought of to retain customers or repackage channels.
Exchange of Customer/ Subscriber, info with other Business Units
For example, if the customer wants to provide a link on the corporate website to look up Customer/Subscriber information, it can be provided. As CRM requirements increase in the future, especially with service providers augmenting their value added services to enhance revenues per user, and with customers adopting other means of interacting with the service provider, this plays an important role to give a seamless and smooth service delivery to the customer.
Data re-engineering to prevent/ correct workflow errors or User mistakes
At times, due to procedural errors or simply due to an operator's mistake, data problems may creep into the system. We will assist the customer in fixing the data issues outside the system to correct the flow. For example, if dealer is added to the system as an employee by mistake, data entered by that user may get stuck in the system because of a different workflow based on the user type. Simply changing the user type will not fix the data problem.
System Configuration Changes
We will provide services for changing the configuration of the application set up depending on the need. For example, as the user base increases, there may be a need to deploy multiple application servers to maintain the response times. Or there may be a need to set up a replicated database or move the database set up to a cluster to make the system highly available. This is an important service for customers who are expecting to support large subscriber base.
Changes triggered from the external systems
In course of using the billing solution, if there are any changes in the external systems it is interfaced with, it may require some changes to the processes/interfaces from the billing solution. For example, if customer decides to use a different Payment Gateway or a new CAS server or decide to use a new bank for direct deposits, it might warrant some changes in the interface. Another example: if the customer decides to upgrade Oracle Financial Apps 11.0.3 to 11i, there may be a need modify the interface to suit the new business flows.
Ad hoc promotions/ marketing campaigns
We can provide services in handling ad-hoc promotions. For example, subscribers who have leased smart cards/other equipments may be given an offer of lease to own at a later date. This might require some changes to the data. We can also help use the subscribers data to use it for other direct marketing purposes. For example, if the customer's business associate is launching a new product into the market, the subscriber data (name, address, etc.) can be used to send promotional material on the new product.
